Yawn. It's time for bed. I feel very creative these days. Perhaps some time with the Penguin will crush my spirits. Or with a camera. Till then.

This might be the cutest thing ever. No I am not gay.

I'm not going to talk about each section. There's a couple of pictures from Texas (including some Rudy's pics) and the long sought after Eileen pictures.

Hrm, let's see. News. News. News. Oh yeah, check out the house. I think you'll want to be there come May 27th, 2006. It'll be quite a shindig.

I have a kickin' stereo in my car. FM Modulation wasn't going to work because my tuner was busted. My CD player also skipped frequently. Enter the Dual 6320.

It was $80 and it is blue. It has an "iPlug" which is a remote auxiliary input so my Pod jacks straight in. It sounds super fantastic and I listen to TWiT going to and fro. Luckily for me, Leo Laporte is on the radio for 8 hours a day or something. I just keep downloading and I'm not really able to catch up. Between TWiT and Patrick Norton over at http://digitallifetv.com/ and those fellas at Digg with their blasted Diggnation I've got plenty to listen to. Oh, I can't not mention Chris Dvorak. I think he has a blog or something at http://www.dvorak.org/blog. Hah. Look at me plugging these guys like the fanboy that I am.

Oh, I'll have more kitten pictures and halloween snaps on the gallery soon.

I got a Black 60GB iPod. It's totally awesome. I am moving my mp3's into iTunes a little at a time. Getting them in is super easy, but making sure they are tagged correctly is laborious. There is no fully automatic system in place for this yet. I have an idea for one once, but I think I'm too late as these central services get setup.

I'm not freaking about the LCD scratching like others, but I am concerned about wear on the unit. It comes with a nice sleeve to keep it in, but you can't use it from there, it's just for storage. The real kick in the nuts is that since they are so secret about future releases, there are no accessories for the new ones yet. I want a case for it, but nobody has 5G accessories yet. I bought a $29.99 FM modulator last night from Fry's. It's in line and requires installation behind the radio, but it plugs directly into the antenae port of your radio so it's modulating, but not really broadcasting, so you don't get crappy quality. I've read reviews of people who say that it sounds way better than anything on the radio whichi is more than enough for me. Most car manufacture's are going to have iPod ports in 2006, but you're right, it's silly not to have them now. I was at a VW dealership with a friend and started asking one of the guys about it . 2005 only has VW with iPod in the Beetle. Why would they only put it in one model I asked. He had no response. I'm sure that there's been more than a couple of cars that have been un-sold because they had no iPod port.

The nano looks pretty cool. My reasoning behind not getting behind them is that for $50 more than the 4GB you can get a 30GB video iPod. It's way bigger than a nano, but it's not big in general. They are thinner now and slide into a pocket very easily. I just can't thnk of a single place I could take a nano that I couldn't take an iPod. The one exception is that the nano on an armband would be not as comfortable as an iPod, but I would never do that I dont' think. Oh did I mention that I can watch ATHF on my iPod?

You should play with iTunes a little. I did before I got my pod and was one of the big reasons that i wanted it. Even if you fully convert your mp3s to m4a files, as long as they are yours and not from the apple store, they have no DRM on them and you can move them around as usual. I like iTunes just as a player. They do to music what Picassa does for pictures. You no longer care where the files are or what directory structure looks like. You can get to what you want pretty instantly and do all the things you want to do with audio.
